  1. What is biodigester? And what kind of raw materials required?
    • Biodigester is a round and fixed dome digester made of solid brick and concretes, buried under the ground. Pig and cattle manure are suitable for feeding, while human waste and chicken dung are recommended to be mixed with other materials. Once the initial feeding is done, the user has to feed the biodigester daily with the required quantity of feeding as prescribed. In general, the quality of feeding will be best if the dung is mixed with equal quantity of water by volume.

  1. What is the characteristic of bio-slurry?
    • The bio-slurry coming out of the digester has following characteristics:
      • When fully digested, bio-slurry is odorless and does not attract insect or flies in the open.
      • Bio-slurry reduces the weed growth because the weed seed is killed or unfertilized during the process of digestion inside the plant.
      • Bio-slurry has greater fertilizer value than compost manure of fresh dung.
      • Bio-slurry is an excellent soil conditioner. It adds humus which is the feed of earthworm and microorganism in the ground increasing the soil porosity and water holding capacity.
  2. What's effective of bio-slurry use on the soil condition?
    • Bio-slurry consider as organic fertilizer and the effective of bio-slurry depend upon the type and condition of the soil, the quality of the seeds, climate and other factors. however, application of bio-slurry will bring the following change to the soil:
      • Improved of the physical structure of the soil.
      • Increased soil fertility.
      • Increased water holding capacity of the soil.
      • Enhanced activity of the micro-organism in the soil.
  3. How biogas farmers manage a proper storage of bio-slurry?
